Camp No Limits California 2013
The warm weather allowed us to enjoy the pool in the afternoons after a busy morning of our daily exercise and life skills sessions. We were fortunate to have the search and rescue crew come out and join us with their horses, rescue dogs and more this year thanks to Bill Nessel for once again connecting us. We were also lucky to have a chance to learn about the animal tracking from the staff from the National Forest in Big Bear. We enjoyed the challenges of the rock wall, high ropes, bungee run, human foose ball, and much more! We certainly enjoyed the acting classes with our Hollywood actor Matthew Glave teaching us about theatrical sword play. Every year we are inspired by the number of new families and the ability to network from veteran families with new ones. So many firsts from learning to tie shoes to learning to run with Rudy Garcia Tolson are very on role model from Challenged Athletes Foundation. Our youngest camper Rumi entertained us with her adorable smile and laugh that can light up a room. Kristine demonstrated the talent of being able to rest her chin on the bottom of her shoe! Yes we all need a c-leg to do that! Special thanks to Loi Ho for connecting us with the Kahle family in San Deigo for putting on the first fundraising event in San Diego! As we continue to grow the connections in Southern California are important! We are excited again to plan for next year and plan to be even bigger! Pencil us in June 27-30th 2014!
